NSW Government Health Care Card rebate — electricity only

The NSW Government Health Care Card rebate is calculated on a daily basis. The rebate will appear on your electricity bill as a separate line item.

Please note: You must be listed as the current account holder to be eligible.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the rebate for each billing period:

  • You must reside in New South Wales.
  • Be a current holder of a Centrelink Health Care Card.
  • Your name must appear on the electricity account for supply at your principal place of residence (except in the case of the Health Care Card under the category of Carer (child under 16) which is issued in the name of the child only).
  • Provide ActewAGL with details of the Health Care Card issued to the applicant by Centrelink.

Application

To apply, simply complete and submit this form online.

To complete this form you will need:

  • your Health Care Card number
  • the expiry date of your card
  • your ActewAGL electricity account number.

Please note: You will need to fill out a new application if you change your address. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible prior to the issue of the first account on which the rebate is claimed. Retrospective adjustments may be made.

You are required to notify us as soon as possible of any change to your circumstances which affects your eligibility for the rebate.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

GST applies to the balance of your electricity account after the rebate has been deducted.
