ActewAGL promotes the benefits of natural gas
Wednesday 7 April 2010
In the wake of Earth Hour and with winter approaching, ActewAGL today announced the launch of a natural gas campaign – Time to think about gas – to promote the benefits of natural gas as an energy source to residents of Canberra and the region.
Natural gas is better for the environment as it only produces around one third of the greenhouse gas emissions of traditional coal-based electricity generation. And it’s cheaper than electricity per unit cost, providing more energy for your money.
ActewAGL Acting Manager Gas Networks Martin Lomé said, “Reducing your environmental footprint doesn’t always have to cost you money, in fact some initiatives can actually save you money. That’s why we wanted to promote the benefits of natural gas.
“We encourage residents who are considering getting natural gas connected to talk to their energy suppliers soon to arrange the installation of their gas meter and natural gas service, before the pre-winter rush. Now is certainly the time to think about gas.”
The campaign will initially run until the end of June and will include a television commercial created by Grey Advertising and produced by local television production company Bearcage.
The campaign will also feature a series of press advertisements, a direct mail postcard and point-of-sale material to be displayed in some energy appliance retailers and display villages in the ACT.
