What are plug-ins

Plug-ins are software programs that 'plug into' other software to increase what they can do.

There are many plug-ins available for web browsers used to allow them to play music, view videos and animations, play games and do many other things.

Many plug-ins are free, although some require a fee. Some of the most popular free plug-ins include Java http://www.java.com, used to run games and applications, Adobe Flash http://www.flash.com, used to play Flash animations and games, and Adobe Acrobat Reader http://www.adobe.com, used to view Acrobat PDF documents and forms

Many websites, including the ActewAGL education website, require you to have plug-ins installed to make full use of their content and features.
