How TransACT's network works
TransACT's network has three stages:
- Stage one involves fibre-optic cables to within a few hundred metres of homes and allows the delivery of television, broadband internet and phone services.
- Stage two involves fibre-optic cables to telephone exchanges and uses the regular phone network to homes; this currently allows the delivery of broadband internet and phone services.
- Stage three uses the Telstra
telephone network to deliver phone services and the Vodafone mobile network to deliver mobile phone services.
TransACT is continually expanding its network and constantly looking for more effective and cost-efficient ways to deliver television, internet and phone services to people across the ACT and Capital region.
